Our pros offer a variety of adult clinics and private lessons for all ages and levels of play. Hone your skills on our private backboard or with the ball machine. Enroll the kids in one of our strong junior tennis programs or Tiny Mites if they're just starting out. Enjoy a Club-hosted evening and weekend mixer made even more special with a tennis theme or the chance to play and dine under the stars.

Court Availability

The courts at the University Club of Palo Alto are available to members and their invited guests from 6 am to 11 pm. Our online reservation system, accessible from the UC app or member website, makes it easy to schedule a court. Our live-stream webcam keeps members up to date on rainy day court conditions.

       Randy Becker

      Director of Tennis and Pickleball

      A consummate teaching professional and leader, Randy Becker is the Director of Tennis and Pickleball at the University Club.  As Director, Randy oversees all tennis and pickleball lesson programs, coordinates social events, and promotes the Club’s numerous USTA tennis teams.  In addition, Randy offers tennis and pickleball lessons, in one-on-one and group settings, to players at all levels and ages. 

      Randy has been a Bay Area-based tennis teaching professional since 1993, and he has successfully taught players of every level and age.  Randy has traveled with the U.S. Davis Cup Team, the Bryan Brothers, and Jim Courier’s Senior Tour. When not teaching, he enjoys playing and competing in tennis and pickleball, as well as training for—and competing in—triathlons. 

      Randy has won two USTA National Bronze Balls in tennis and has competed in over 500 USTA matches.  Since 2011, Randy has finished 18 IRONMAN triathlon events (16x70.3 & 2x140.6) and myriad other endurance challenges.

      Miles joined the UCPA Tennis Department in 2015. His qualifications are with the USPTA, PTR and Tennis Coaches Australia.  Miles coaches all levels of Adults and Juniors. Miles has been involved in coaching for 16 years in leadership positions at prestigious tennis facilities in Australia, England and The United States.

      This includes being a Program Director at The Ritz-Carlton Tennis Garden in Key Biscayne, Miami for six years. Miles has played, worked and coached amongst some of the best in the tennis world. He holds a Bachelor of Sports Science Degree from The University of Western Australia and a Masters in Education at Notre Dame University, Australia. In Australia he played Division 1 men’s level. He is very excited about being a part the team here at The University Club of Palo Alto. Miles enjoys working with players of all ages and levels and is hoping to meet you on the courts soon.

      Joel grew up in Australia and competed professionally before coming to the United States for school. He’s a highly rated USTA 5.0 who still enjoys training and competing. Joel brings years of proven success running junior tennis programs and teaching adults of all levels.
